Molly (poni)

Horse · Pony

The idea of setting up a nonprofit association was born when we met this second Molly, a 28-year-old pony. Our dogs alerted us to her presence behind a closed fence. When we looked over it, we could hardly believe what we saw: a pony in a terrible state, with an infected eye and deep wounds. After some effort we managed to get her out, and the vet rushed over to treat her. It turned out that half of her head, one eye, and her legs were decaying because a large dog had bitten her several days earlier and the wounds had gone untreated. We did everything we could to help her, even admitting her to an animal hospital, but sadly she didn't survive. Since she had a microchip, we learned her name — what a coincidence that it was the same as our little donkey's. Thanks to this sweet pony, we took the final step to set up the association, which owes part of its name to her.
